Day 4 - Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia
I am the first one to fall asleep and the last one to wake up. Breakfast are prepared! Dried kuey teow. A bit sticky and hard to swallow. No offense grandma but we seldom take breakfast >,<
Grandpa and grandma waited for us because they wanted to bring us to SMJK Keat Hwa for canteen day but we do not know that. SORRRRRY... We insisted to walk. We went to Keat Hwa S, which is the wrong school. Yen Ruen was waiting at Keat Hwa K =,=
We then walk-walk and discovered a lot of nice stuff. Went through all kinds of terrains: grass, mud, tarmac, tiles, tunnel, bridge and highway. Tiring. We saw rivers, flowers and trees. KEDAH!
We accidentally come to the centre of attractions.
Monumen for 250 years. Awesome mosque across the road. Royal Museum. Clock tower in the middle of the road. Balai nobat, and art gallery. Too bad art galley and royal museum closing soon so we gotta speed reading the material in the museum. But I did digest a part of Kedah history. It has something to do with the Geroda (gigantic eagle), Vishnu, Raja Merong Mahawangsa and Roman ships. Not really clear what happen though =\
We gave up the idea to Keat Hwa K and walk to Alor Setar Mall instead. We did something stupid on the way. V and I were too hungry so we get longan on the tree. It is sweet but with less flesh. Too bad. After a long walk, V passed me a knife and challenge me to get a mango on the tree in front of a house. Challenge accepted. I looked left and right. No one around, so i grab the knife on my right hand and cut the attachment just the height of my head. I got a mango in my hand! But gosh the dogs start barking at me so I ran to V and we both left. Hahahahaha! We cannot stop laughing at each other. We pick a shade and sat down to peel the mango. The Malays just back from mosque and looked at us like we are aliens. Woops sorry my friends I forgot you guys are still puasa-ing. Sorry and no offense.
And here we are, reached Alor Setar Mall. The only mall with big sunlight in the centre of the mall =,=
We got ourselves lunch with Char Kuey Teow and Braised Chicken Feet with Mushoom Noodle. V also get himselves a ukulele at good price. YR then bring us to his friends, two super hot friends working at a car exhibition.
Fishing time! YR brought us to a paddy field and we started fishing straightaway right after we found a suitable place. The paddy field is muddy and the other side of the pathway is a big drain, which relatively almost the same as water volume as the one in paddy field. We saw bubbles but we find no fish =,= Sky got darker so we left the mosquito at the paddy field. We left empty handed but fulled with happiness and experience. FYI, i never fish before.
Noodles under the bridge. We waited for so long and when the noodle finally arrived, we got so quiet and disciplined eating because the famous noodle under the bridge is so delicious. And finally V remembered to take photos. The noodle tasted like Million Noodles in Raja Uda, Butterworth because of the handmade noodles and the awesome sauce. Char Siu is super best! They roasted that themselves with an oven.
Later on that night we captured Cups version of Happy Birthday to Celine. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Celine Lim Chai Lin!
I am writing this paragraphs with Vincent behind me making noise with his new toy, the ukulele - feeling ANNOYED =\
